The accommodation
Casa Demetria is located in the village of Puntagorda in the northwest of the Canary Island of La Palma. It is an old Spanish pajero (farmhouse) renovated in 2018, named after its last occupant. The house is located in rural area in the middle of an avocado orchard and has an impressive view over the Atlantic Ocean. Solar energy is used to generate both hot water and electricity.

Casa Demetria is detached, has a cactus garden and is located one kilometer away from the center of the village of Puntagorda.
How do you get there
A car is not necessary but highly recommended.
By car you can easily reach all sights and hiking routes. The roads on the island are well maintained. What you have to get used to is that outside the road in the tunnel and the runway of the airport there are hardly any straight roads. So you drive a lot of turns.
An alternative are the ‘Guaguas’, the buses. The timetables are reliable, they run on time and for a few euros you can drive around the whole island. To get by bus from the airport to Puntagorda is a decent journey.
